My own award for Cancer research

I thought of quitting this thread and letting you win, but there is no getting around the fact that science is not valued by society. I won an award for cancer research, but after the program was transferred to another research group I had trouble finding a job. I had to settle for telemarketing and door-to-door sales. I inevitably had to change careers. Engineering didn't really pan out either. It was a miserable field with people flunking out by the droves because of, of all things, calculus. A completely useless course, one that I never used for a any practical purpose, but upon which the future progress of all engineering students pivots. Even after that it seems that the abstract courses seemed to carry the most weight on one's academic future. Things in this world just don't add up, I am serious university is just a scam.
