Adam lists a couple of the good ideas that have been proposed to get a manned presence in space for low cost and using existing technology. I could fill a football stadium with these ideas--all spiked by NASA.
Just one example out of many would be those who proposed using the Shuttle ET as a space facility. This outfit is just one example. They have run into a solid brick wall at NASA for almost two decades.
