Wow, $1/2 trillion to set up a refueling infrastructure on the moon? That does sound rather megalomaniacal.
Guess it does cost that much when I think about it.. Getting all the construction materials to the moon (even with the low-end $2800/lb. figure to get things off the Earth and into space), construction, operation, maintenance, training of personnel, administration (heh heh.. Probably 3/4 of the cost would go to admin I think).. Makes me wonder how long would it take for such a program to pay for itself. :-P
