Like on Earth, every scientist, biologist, astrologist, astronomer works in their field... here, on Earth. I would love to see the day that such professionals could do the same... out there.

Ok, the moon. :) I've said this before, but here goes:
Yes, it has lots of dust, (so does Mars) but they could still build a raised visual and radio telescope/s on Luna using some kind of raised platform/stills, maybe. Humans may not even have to stay there for extended periods of time thanks to the current levels of uplink/downlink technology for transmitting information and even pictures (a good practice run regarding those on Luna for use on the Martian orbit, LMO) . The super rich could even build some kind of an Inn where tourists could stay for at least a day. Reading about their adventure and seeing their vacation photos would be fine with me. *g* Geologists could still have a field day on Luna.
Somewhere in between, I don't see why somewhat similar plans could not be applied to Mars. They really have to come up with a faster way of getting there. VASIMR is the best candidate for a speedy trip to Mars, imho. Ion driven engines are steady and have only recently been tested: DS-1. Regardless, here we are right now and again imho, we should have gone back to the moon for the science, continued knowledge for a lucky few, the experience.
