I support returning to the moon but hope it doesn't degenerate into a series of "firsts" based on things like race or sex. The moon has a land area bigger than Africa and we've only explored a few square miles of it. There's a lot of work to be done and scientific research to do.
Right now, I don't see much chance of the funding for going to either the moon or Mars. I wish that wasn't the case but that's how I see it. There just doesn't seem to be any pressing need to devote billions to going to either place (and setting up a telescope or radar site to search for NEOs isn't the reason either). Like the line from "The Right Stuff", "No bucks, no Buck Rogers." We can hope and dream all we want, but without the money, none of this is going to happen.

- It isn't a question of NEOs

- I wish they didn't have to make a choice.
