There is an alternative theory,
one that actually has been proposed on this forum quite frequently: that there is a sinister cabal (but not quite a formal conspiracy!) of Socialist scientists, journalists, professors, entertainment celebrities and statist bureaucrats fabricating lies about poverty, environmental pollution, the population explosion and global warming, in order to have an excuse to take over the world and destroy America through unfair regulations on business, just because they hate Freedom and despise our Entrepreneurial Spirit.
I hope I do not offend anyone by humbly suggesting that I believe this theory is mistaken.
