Maybe Tom and I aren't polar opposites on everything, or even most things.
I don't know Tom's view on Stem Cells/cloning. Here's mine: Stem Cell research is a no brainer. Use the discarded material from dead fetuses and cure sick, living people. Bush is showing his colors (yellow) by not making the obvious decision on this immediately.
Cloning is a little more iffy. I think cloning body parts offers tremendous possibilities for vastly increasing human lifespans, perhaps even to thousands of years. Cloning humans completely is a whole different issue and can open up a major can of worms. I'm leaning against that one.
