Last I heard, Dolly isn't dead

I remember a report from a year or so ago that indicated Dolly is prematurely aging. I heard Dolly's creator discussing now cloning technology just isn't ready for human experiments yet. He mentioned that only about 3% of cloning attempts were successful and many of the clones had severe genetic defects. I'm not supporting a ban on all human cloning activities but just don't believe this technology will mature enough for years to come. What's the rush other than perhaps ego?
