Very difficult

I have always considered a first trimester fetus as nothing more than tissue. IMO a fetus shortly after conception is not you.

When does it become you? I would like to say when it is sentient but I am not certain when we acquire sufficient self-awareness to earn that status.

I am personally comfortable with the first trimester limit on abortion but I understand the other side's position.

For those that believe that a woman should have full jurisdiction over her body at all times, I wonder, when we have the tech, if all sides could be satisfied by the removal of the fetus to an environment outside the woman's body. Would the liberal side say that the woman should have the right to terminate the fetus. Would the rtl conservatives insist that the fetus remain in the woman's body.

It is my distaste for dealing with issues like this that makes me want to take my clan to an unpopulated garden planet orbiting a star far, far away.
