Excess wealth

<...What I would add, and would be controversial, is that NO ONE should be allowed to accumulate too much capital, or should be allowed to pass too much capital onto the next generation. Capital should not be allowed to accumulate without restriction.

This sounds good in theory. So who gets to decide what "too rich" is? And who gets the "excess?" And what happens when the Third World gets a vote in and decides YOU are "too rich?"

I don't see inherited wealth as the threat that many do. Either the inheritors will make the wealth grow, which is good for everyone, or they will dissipate it foolishly which seriously harms no one but themselves. Theoretically, the wealth is their property, and the property of those who gave it to them (which in some slowly fading philosophies still counts for something), and is theirs to do with what they want.

I fail to see any clear evidence that it would be a better for everyone to take this wealth and give it to the congenital idiots in Washington to waste by throwing it down their own private ratholes.

If you really want to be sure the wealthy have no undue influence in Washington, then take away Washington's absolute power over commerce, business, and finance. Why does this solution hardly ever come up?
