Geez, I'm accommodating today...
...why would Bush's people tell the world that we're weak, unless there is some advantage to having that known, or believed? This is a domestic political tactic. There is a tax hike in our future, to finance the new military. We are being prepared. The cat is on the roof.
You might be right, but a tax hike would kill Bush dead in the next election. Another possibility is that he's going to request another hike in military spending without a tax hike. We'll see.
And remember, the military weakness bit was largely speculation on the part of Worldnet Daily.
