Poor choice of names, maybe?

I’ve never heard this guy, and I can understand why. I wonder how long he can insult the intelligence of his readership, or listenership, with arguments such as not being at war against terror, Muslims or Islam, but “Islamists”. This guy could well have graduated from the KKK PR Academy, class of ’09.

"The government and media for the past nine months have called this a war against terror. So have we here. But terror is not the enemy.”

“This is not a war against Muslims or Islam. It is a war against Islamists and all who support them. If ever there were a time for clarity, it is now. We hope our new policy is a step in that direction."

What if someone said, "This isn’t a war against Christians or Christianity. It is a war against “Christianists”. Not sure that isn’t a finer line than exists.

What about the Hindus who attack the Muslims in India – Kashmir – Pakistan? Not Islamists - they'll fight Dobbs on that one.

What about NATO bombing civilians in the former Yugoslavia hoping they will depose their President? Terrorism? By definition.

As Mary Anne mentioned, the IRA seems to be a “terrorist” organization, and they are not “Islamists”. Would Dobbs call them “Christianists” or "Roman Catholicists" and declare war on them and all who support “Christianists” or "Roman Catholicists"?

How about the guy who shot the physician in the name of Christ? Terrorism? Not an "Islamist".

Is bombing a civilian antibiotic factory in Sudan an act of terror? Yep. And not "Islamistism".

Can “terrorism” be supported if one claims spurious, unconfirmed evidence the target was military, even though there is no war? Then all terrorism could be justified.

What about Hutus, and Tutsis, or does genocide not count as “terrorism”.

What about McVeigh? I don’t think he was a “Christianist” or “Islamist”.

I don’t know that designating all terrorists “Islamists” can be considered anything but a war on Islam. And I for one will have to be dragged into that war kicking and screaming.

And I would hope that people of reason and conscience would tell Dobbs to fight his own not subtle wars against religion, we’ll stick to terrorism.
