While you were busy getting upset, your guy, GWB, declared a war on terrorism. All terrorism. And those who supported it. Didn't say just Islamic terrorists. Or "Islamist" terrorists.

First, terrorism, carrying a war to innocent civilians, is terribly wrong. Tragic. Very difficult to excuse, though it always is, as "retalliation".

Suddenly terrorism is unfair when it happens to us. Terrorism is and has been conducted by all manner of people, including the US. Firebombing of civilians in WWII, after the war was won, even, was terrorism on a scale unimagined except by the Japanese in China. Bombing civilians in the former Yugoslavia was terrorism. By NATO.

Muslims could think the US had declared war on them for a good reason. Starting with Israeli ethnic cleansing, moving on to the CIA overthrow of a Muslim leader of Iran and the installation, and it continues.

Do you not hear the Islamic theologians, the vast majority, who condemn terrorism? The are talking, if one listens. Maybe not if one is listening to Rush, or Dobbs, but they are talking.

The only Americans who will support a war on Islam, even calling them "Islamists", are extremists, people who have allowed themselves to be reduced to the mental state of an al-Queda. Others will not tolerate Islamic terrorists, and go to the effort to distinguish them from Islam.

You know and I know there are extremists everywhere. There are Christian extremists, who have declared war on some Americans, and it goes on and on.

Do you really want to declare war on an entire religion? What do you think the Muslim extremists would want? Or, for that matter, what would make the Israeli extremists happier? (Much of this is over the US support of Israeli expansionism at the expense of, you guessed it, Muslims.)

Nope. No war against an entire religion. If you insist, you're going to have to go there with the other extremists. Not me.

If you won't listen to their theologians, listen to American Muslims. At least some of the time. Dobbs and Limbaugh may not know as much as they have convinced some folks they do.
