<Liberals everywhere can take heart from the fact that "justice, physical and intellectual freedom, access to diverse information, personal safety, and equal economic opportunity" are considered so basic to liberalism that they constitute "classic liberalspeak". Thank you, Phil!

Of course they do. You are listing ideal goals that almost everyone would support. Liberals and conservatives agree wholeheartedly on many ends. The fun starts when "means" are discussed. Example: All sections of the political spectrum would probably agree that everyone should have access to reliable medical care. The methods of accomplishing this are where the arguments begin, and so it goes for many other areas of discussion.
