While you were off planet, Islamic fanatics attacked the WTC, the Pentagon and tried to attack the White house and failed. More civilians died on 911 than soldiers died at Pearl Harbor. This was the 2nd attempt on civilians at the WTC. Between then and 911 we had an embassy bombed and the USS Cole attacked with loss of life. After 911, in a secret (to you) move the Congress and the Executive branch agreed to take it to those Islamic fanatics responsible, wherever they may be.
You can attempt to be cute and mention the other acts of other groups of wacko terrorist fanatics, but me, I'm LOTS less worried that ultra right wing Christian American yahoos or drunken IRA Micks are gonna nuke Boston.
