The Left gets it together...

Found this short bit in Newsmax, and tried to find the original (I usually try to locate the original article when I see something in a source that's highly tilted on the political spectrum to minimize the noise factor).

This seems to be the Guardian article referred to. Just for kicks, I try to find an organization called "Not In Our Name."

Whoa.

First up was "Not In My Name," a group of Jews protesting Israel's actions in the Middle East. It may be a little easier for them to be peaceniks, since they live in Illinois and elsewhere in the U.S., but there it is.

The biggie here was this site, apparently relatively new, and the source of a lot of interesting anti-war information. However, despite some similarities, this did not seem to be the original source of the current statement.

I finally found the original "Statement of Concience" here, on a website called "The Artist's Network of Refuse and Resist." a site dedicated to creating a "culture of resistance," and chock-full of the verbal hippopotamus diarrhea that can be found almost verbatim on most leftist web sites, even including the traditional homage to cop killer Mumia Abu-Jamal.

Further links point to "Refuse and Resist," which is more of the same.

Particularly fascinating on this site is their founding statement. This was written in 1987, and, almost word for word, rattles off the same paranoid idiocy that I'm hearing now about how Republicans are going to create a totalitarian theocratic police state given the slightest provocation. This was fifteen years ago. I don't see a police state just yet, do you?

Obviously, despite screams about being "repressed," the Hard Left is doing just fine, thank you, and organizing to make sure that whatever happens in the future, America ends up on the losing side.

Read these sites, including the fascinating links, and imagine living in a nation run by these creatures. The people who are signing up to this stuff are not the looneys who hold court down in the coffeehouses. They are famous people with influence. Their goals have not changed since the 60's, and their primary motivation, regardless of their indignant protests when you say so, is a deep and abiding hatred for America, the West, and the values they stand for.

In a time of increasing Federal power, we do need to be vigilant. But vigilance needs to be facing both ways.
