Conservatives, i.e. those who value individual rights over collective rights, invented the concept of limited government and constitutional restrictions on the power of the state. I will grant that the collectivists invented the all-powerful Federal government and the vast load of wealth-redistribution schemes since then.
I know! Man landed on the Moon during a Republican administration. Whoopee! There's one for you.
Yeah, but Kennedy started the Moon race, so it probably doesn't count*. Reagan does get points for flattening the Soviet Union, although liberals are still throwing their backs out trying to twist it so Gorbachev, the Tooth Fairy, or ANYONE but Reagan, gets the credit.
Yeah, I'm sorry Republicans didn't originate the massive socialization of our nation that currently sucks up half the budget. As far as buying voters goes, it's a massive success, and I'm sure it will only get bigger and more successful for the politicians.
And, in spite of the mantra, too expensive, too much, too fast, the economy seems to keep going. Even after the too expensive, too much, too fast. Over, and over, and over. Again.
Yeah, the regulations haven't broken us yet. You can rob a millionaire a lot before it starts to show. This doesn't make robbery moral.
And yeah, businessmen are all greedy, amoral sons of bitches who would kill their own grandmothers for an extra buck. Hey, that's what they all do on television shows, and we know that's got to be accurate, right? Besides, the alternative, that they might be honest people who have earned their wealth and success through skill and hard work is a concept that really makes the losers in this world very uncomfortable. Better to stick with the robber barons.
I would still find it highly amusing if some wrecked business sued the red-diapered asses off some environmental group who pulled some pseudo-science crap out of their hats and made it impossible for the business to exist. The farmers ruined by the Alar fiasco would have been a good start. The businesses wrecked by the silicone implant lie would also be a good prospect.
*Conservatives also credit Kennedy with popularizing the supply-side tax cut.
