Yes, and the main reason they don't is because it's illegal. How many would just do it if it was legal? I think more than you realize.

Use and abuse of drugs, is as it always has been, a personal choice.

So is robbing a bank, kidnapping and rape. The one thing they all have in common is they are all wrong. Some things just have to be outlawed for the protection of society. I surely don't want to live in a society that endorses legal drug use and be subject to increased crimes from wackos. The highways are dangerous now, just think how it would be if drugs were legal like alcohol. Drug use doesn't just affect the user, many innocent people are severely subject to there dangerous actions.

The drug war is a great moral, political, financial and national failure since it was imposed.

Yes, I agree, it has been a two faced policy. There lies the failure, some are allowed to harvest for favors while others are attacked. Let's not just give up because the current policy isn't working.

The drug Cartel will not go away just because we legalize drugs. They will laughing all the way to the bank while still feeding the underground market to the US. Tobacco is legal yet there are multi million dollar underground rings supplying cheap smokes beating the tax man.

I hope that when we humans finally spread out to another planet that we ban drugs for other than medical reasons.
