Re: Define evil, if you can.

"All that which is proper to the life of a rational being is the good; all that which destroys it is the evil."

--Ayn Rand

Simple, but effective. I can give you the whole background, but you can read the books as well as I can.

The modern "intellectual" sneers at the very concept of "morality," claiming that no one can define right and wrong, and that anyone's call on it is as valid as anyone else's. The fact that even using the word "evil" is frowned on in "intellectual" discussion is quite revealing.

The result is moral cripples like this young woman, or most people coming out of a university education.

Why would anyone want to cripple the ability to make moral judgments? I suppose it depends on your agenda. An amoral population might not interfere when the totalitarians start marching people into the Gulags, or the ovens. After all, who are we to judge?

And bereft of any foundation on which to decide right and wrong, they are blank slates for the totalitarian to write their own program on. Who are you to judge? Let us tell you what to do.

Let me give you a clue: anyone who comes to you claiming that no one (especially you) can decide what's "good" and "evil," does not have your best interests in mind. Kind of like the guy playing cards with you who wants you to close your eyes for just a minute.
