Re: etymology

Hi Robert,
Out of curiosity I went to the site and found the word "diligent".
Same meaning in french, same spelling; but we also have the verb "diligenter" which isn't in the Mansion's french english dictionary; it means "to trust" but mainly in juridical language.
Now, we have the word "juridique" which isn't the same as "judiciaire"; I find judicial and juridicial but I'm not sure if their nuances are the same in both languages.
Most of the three or more syllable english words originated from french.
But sometimes, their meaning change with time.
An example: decade in english means 10 years but in french it means 10 days (dies = day in latin).
Translations can be more tricky than we expect!
