So, you want some cookies?

I'm not kidding. There are not 12 Days of Christmas for nothing. Give me a PO Box or something and I'll send some. Heaven knows I've shipped farther than CA. (Let's hear a chorus of "I'm Dreaming of a Wet Christmas" for you rainboys out there...)

Choice of cutout sugar cookies, chocolate rum balls, walnut shortbread, traditional toll house, cinnamon sugar buttons, or a mixed assortment. The specialized technology worker's assortment doesn't include the shortbread (confectioner's sugar coating gets on everything) or the rum balls (more confectioner's sugar, plus rum), and so may be eaten on the job. Please specify your preferences and any food allergies. :)

Cheesecake, alas, doesn't travel well. But you could have a loaf of lemon bread if you prefer.

Would it trigger superstitious feelings of "tempting fate"? If you worked on one of the floors hit directly by a plane, would you feel like you're wearing a bullseye?

No more than usual. Besides, for every superstition there is an equal and opposite superstition: "Lightning never strikes twice". To those who point out that the WTC was already attacked twice when its basement was bombed, the answer is simple: not with aircraft, it wasn't.

I'd suggest facing the Towers, or portions of them, with black marble for those who insist on a visible memorial, but that might not be a good idea. It might get awfully hot in there in August.

Have yourself a merry little Christmas, Robert.

Best wishes--
Mary Anne
