Well, I suppose...
that in land scarce city "if you build it they will come" but the concensus is that people are not fond of working in high rise buildings, me included, for several reasons.
Frankly, I have never been impressed by tall buildings but I am a fan of wonder monuments such as the pyramids, SOL, Eifel Tower etc. IMO a significant monument designed to last makes a statement about a civilzation above and beyond buildings that are eventually all demolished.
