Reality is a Harsh Mistress

<< i > In other words: ethnic cleansing. < /i >

It's a dirty job, but is an acceptable solution when the alternative is the destruction of your nation. What would the Palestinians do if given the chance? After all, isn't the ethnic clensing of Israel mandated within the Palestinian Authority?

< i > Total disregard for Palestinians as human beings doesn't seem to take more than a few seconds... not surprising from you. Ariel Sharon might even feel the same way; given his record, I wouldn't doubt it. But, for the sake of preventing this from remaining a simple flame against your extraordinary ignorance and racism, Lee, let me remind you: < /i >

The Palestinians are the ones with the disregard for Human life. Sending their children, strapped with explosives, to kill and maim as many Israelis as possible, then selling trading cards of the bombers to the rest of the children as a means of getting new recruits. You can't negotiate with people like this, their hatred and dedication to Israel's destruction are absolute. Israel will never be secure as long as this large enemy population is within its midst.

< i > Forced expulsion of the Palestinians from the scant remainder of their original homelands will not magically make Israel's borders less porous, either to rockets, suicide bombers, or Syrian armored divisions. Besides being morally reprehensible prima facie, relocation of the Palestinians at gunpoint will violate the national sovereignty of whatever country they are forced into (recall which countries border Israel...), which, especially in these hairtrigger times, is more than ample justification for a military response. < /i >

Take a look at Israel without the West Bank. Their territory is about 10 miles across. This would not be defensible during an all out war, but if their territory extended all the way to the Jordan River then they would have territorial integrity. The Jordan River could be easily defended from anything the Jordanians or Syrians had to throw at them. And you must remember, the land was fairly taken by Israel as a result of aggression on the part of several Arab countries in 1967. Much the same way that Poland gained land from Germany after WWII. After WWII, a large German population was forced to relocate from the lands given to Poland with U.N. approval, this was the price they paid for defeat. If such a fate was ok for the Germans, then it's ok for the Arabs. The West Bank "Palestinians" were Jordanian citizens so relocating them to Jordan would be the proper way to go. The Gaza Strip "Palestinians" could be relocated to Egypt, and the Syrians living in the Golan Heights could be sent to Syria.

< i > Many Palestinians will refuse. What then, Lee? Shoot them where they stand? Slobodan Milosevic is on trial for crimes against humanity for doing that - but, perhaps you don't think it's a crime, since you are already on record as believing some people are less human than others. < /i >

Again, The territories that Germany gave up after their war of aggression were far larger than the Occupied Territories, and the population size forced to move was far larger as well. Other ways, besides shooting them, could be found to move them.

In 1967, and a few more times as well, the Arabs tried to destroy Israel, and either force out or experminate its population. Now it's time for them to pay the price for their failure.
