<Tom, one of the things you try to stick to us liberals is that
1) We think we know best and
2) you think we are trying to meddle in how people live their lives/tell them how to live
Geez, really? Anybody else want to weigh in on this based on years of personal experience dealing with liberals and liberal organizations?
Make a list of those aspects of our daily lives and careers that liberals do NOT think they or their representatives in the government should have some say in.
I can think of two offhand:
Abortion*.
Who or what you can screw.
Pretty much any other part of your job, business, personal habits, what car you buy, you name it, is subject to them deciding for you what you should do and how you should do it.
Think about it a while. For most of your life, when someone has made a rule that butts into your life or business, has it been from liberals or conservatives? Oh, only for your own good of course.
Sorry, but in the last half century we have NOT implemented any parts of the theocracy liberals constantly claim conservatives are about to clobber them with. However, in the last half century we have implemented most of the social and economic fantasies that the Old Left only used to dream about.
