Re: Answer to part of the question

"Abstinence works."

yeah, for cultures based around stone-age living patterns, but in modern society it simply doesn't work as well as education programs that encourage abstinence, but also provide information on reproductive health and use of contraception.

Well, lets bring back tribal law, sutee and stoning while we are ate it....

"To listen to some liberals, one would think George Washington crossed the Delaware to give women the right to flush fetuses from their bodies."

Tom, I certainly don't want to wade into the muddy/bloody waters of the abortion battle on this board. I will say this, though. Scientifically, we have yet to establish clearly when 'Human' life has begun beyond the self-evident stage of fetus viability. As such, it remais a fuzzy moral argument that is based as much on spiritual belief and opinion as much as science and fact. As such, IMHO, it MUST be an individuals choice. When the Gov't tries to pass laws to mandate a certain choice, thats impinging upon my right to live according to my beliefs (even if they are ass-backwards wrong or immoral!). And yeah, Washington ROW'd (opposed to wade, sorry for the pun) accross the delaware for that right.

"Trying to figure out what laws keep gays from living anywhere they want. "

Colorado, until as late, had laws that allowed open discrimination based on sexual preference- Landlords could legally refuse to rent on the basis of gender preference.

"I'm a libertarian, and think a property owner should have the right not to rent to people with a "Q" in their name if that's what floats their boat"

Well, current legal practice extends protection against discrimination on the basis of color or creed, but we can discriminate against gays legally

Tom: "If they let this last guy see an attorney, what are you guys going to have left to bitch about?"
