Ok - so if "provoking the US is (not) really going to help them acheive their goals" - (I think this is quite a plausible explanation, by the way), what is the need of the massive "Homeland Security" bureaucracy, Patriot Act, invasion of Iraq, etc?

Does "YoursTruly" below have a point?
