Personally, I think the world would be greatly improved if ALL the political and military leaders were placed at the forefronts of their own armies before a battle, instead of sitting around a neat table pushing models of tanks around. It would make them think twice about fighting, and worst case, at least improve the gene pool over the long run. And hey, who knows. Some of them might be good at it. An M-1 with ARMY ONE painted on the side...
I've seen some leaders famed for their speeches. Churchill was one, but so was Hitler. I care more about what Bush does than how well he puts things.
