This Shakspearian King said that while invading France.
The point was that Davin seems to have no problem with rousing the troops as long as you are not crude about it. I might be moved to tears hearing an actor say the lines I quoted but your average guy on the street prefers something more direct. The fact that he prefers the simple and direct does not lessen him.
Your characterization of Bush as a coward is no more fair that it would be to assume the same of Clinton for draft dodging and burning his draft card. Clinton's wartime behavior is undisputed and far more credible that the version of Bush's military career that you have chosen to buy into.
It's called a selective belief system. If someone said (someone that might know) that Bush's breath smells so bad you can't sit across from him at a conference table you would file it in your mind as a fact to be quoted. If the same thing was said about Chirac you would dismiss it as a lie. Now guess which version is actually a well known fact.
