re: Source

Thanks for the source

Matt wrote As for the term "terrorist" I find it quite appropriate for those in Iraq whose religious beliefs are so extreme they call for killing Americans...and...oddly...Zionists. I wasn't aware that there were any Zionists occupying Iraq. Also, neighboring Iran is clearly has a terrorist governing theocracy, and there are some Shiite leaders in Iraq who have close ties to terrorists Shiite leaders in Iran.

Look at it your way if that pleases you. I think you are over-simplifying the situation and certainly insulting the Iraqis by insisting that everyone of them opposed to our occupation, and willing to fight for those beliefs, are necessarily doing so out of evil, selfish or ignorant views. I think the only way to have a 'peaceful' occupation of Iraq is to find out the various and sundry reasons, motivations and goals- and try to address the ones with any merit... Not turn a blind eye and call them all terrorists or Saddamites.

PS: As fot the Shia issue and religious insanity, your cited author has some very interesting things to say in a piece about how the Arab/Muslem is not blameless in their plight. I can't remember what it is entitled, but it was to/in an Arab paper and you can probably find it on his site, the one with the comprehensive list of articles.

Also, try the one "Ms Fallaci is wrong" (or something like that), if you are an anti-euro in this whole situation.

I read the other side, Matt. My viws are not formed in a liberal vacuum... Just so you know, if your crack about ignorace of the 'real situation' in your post-before-last was aimed at me...
