Sure, I'm for my guys. I want to see them come home- but why the hell can't we allow that just possibly the Iraqis are a proud enough and independent enough people to desire to NOT be ruled by a foreign power? Why cant we think of them as patriots? Granted, patriots that are against our boys- but if you can't respect and sympathize with the folks you are occupying, then you should never have supported an occupation in the first place.
...I'm not saying that everyone who collaborates with our occupying forces are meerly doing it for money- but you must allow that some (in fact many) probably are. Just in the same way that you must agree that some of the ones coming at us are patriots.
"Just possibly?" Do you have any "hard empirical evidence" that even a single one of the people trying to get America out of the is an enlightened patriotic Iraqi whose sole concern is to replace the American occupation with a free and democratic Iraq? As opposed to someone who simply wants a totalitarian Baathists/Sunni regime back in power, or an Islamic theocracy? Heck, an al-Quaeda group claimed THEY were doing all of this, with no more proof than you have.
Our forces have captured a great number of these people. I dare say they know what their motivations are.
The Iraqis interested in a free and democratic Iraq are talking with our forces over tables, not shooting at them.
