re: cognitive dissonance

You don't understand the meaning of cognitive dissonance at all if you think it has to do with core beliefs and an attack response.

Everyone uses cognitive dissonance to reconcile different views of the world sometimes to a bad end, sometimes to a good end.

I think you looked up Cargo Cults and came across this term and thought it fit your beliefs about the Mars Society and haven't a clue what it exactly meant.

A few points...I read, I understand and I remember all to well...

The time you claimed mechanical counterpressure suits couldn't exist... I showed you that they did testing on them in the 1960s and 1970s...they existed

I remember the time you called the Mars Society a cargo cult because you couldn't reconcile the fact we do real science with our toy Spacesuits and Habs in our analog geology of Mars. Yeah peer reviewed journals always except papers from cargo cults...

I remember the time you said the members of congress from Illinois would submit bills dealing with the Impact Hazard soon...that was over half a year ago...still waiting...

I remember the time you said that other witness would be called before congress after Zubrin and they would have very different views about space exploration...where are they? Zubrin is back up there...

If we are talking cognitive dissonance theory we could make a pretty good case that you are a classic case of dissonance in a negative manor.
