re: The irresponsible Ed

"The spaniards DID NOT WANT their country's involvement in Iraq but their government went ahead anyway and the population must pay for it with 200 deaths and 1.400 wounded??? "

Are you attempting to claim that all or most Spaniards are so scared of these terrorists that it is this fear is what caused them to be against the war in Iraq? I think the Spaniards are a much braver and nobler people than what you are implying. I think they had better reasons than merely fearing that some terrorist might attack them, if they choose the path to fight terrorists. Lots of people are simply against any war- believing in some form of Pacificism. Others had specific objections to this particular war- some well founded others based on rumor and misinformation.

My guess is you are merely projecting your own lack of courage and have no right to insult so many people especially at this time when they are mourning the loss of so many innocent people who were murdered.

Now, why do you think this has any connection to Iraq???
It took years of planning to do 911. Maybe they would chosen to pull the trigger if Spain had done some other significant act against the terrorists. Do you think Spain should not combat ANY terrorism?
And you don't think these people who did this are from Iraq, do you?
If some terrorist attack in France, are you going to say it has something to do with what France is doing in Afghanistan, or perhaps what might have been said in some speech regarding terrorism?
What your plan Raoul- hide in some corner? Beg them not to hurt you?
The only solution is to go after them. Cut off their funding, track them down, then capture or kill them.

If there is any connection to Iraq, it's that they already think they have lost that battle, and are looking for other areas or something to distract their followers from their quagmire in Iraq [no mountains, oh my, where are we going to hide?:].
