Wrong tree, Raoul.

I am coming to the reluctant conclusion that American conservatives act as if they love killing other people, and think those people should rather enjoy it. That's a horrible thing have to acknowledge I'm coming to believe, and if they wouldn't act that way I could avoid the conclusion.

I've come to that conclusion by watching them excuse every killing perpetrated by their forces, and condemn every killing done by anyone else.

Take the guy who recently excused the slaughter of 9 children in an Afghani house because there was a fellow the US didn't like in there. A-10 Warthogs attacked 'em. The Air Force has changed the Rules of Engagement since then, but will not tell the public what happened.

Nine children will not live, laugh, love. They will not be able to pray, marry, have children, worry when they are sick, laugh when they get married, or be grandparents. Because A-10 Warthogs attacked one man who was suspected of being bad. 18 parents, but they might be dead, too. Acceptable collateral damage. My ass!!

That attack was excused by the US military. And US conservatives. Imagine that.

Contrast that with the Australians. 40 missions aborted. And US conservatives will probably claim that untold calamity was visited upon Americans because of it. I don't think the Aussies would have abandoned an ally - they concluded these weren't valid targets, or the "collateral" damage so accepted by some Americans was too high.

What they don't understand is the bad guys are bad because they do bad things. One would hope that their own government would not use as an excuse that because the bad guys do bad things that they, too, can indiscriminately slaughter and not be "bad".

They can't, except in their own minds.

Nope, Raoul. For one thing, ed is tolerated by his compatriots. Were he liberal I'd gut him. I'd hang his little wet brain so far out to dry it would be next Christmas before he thought about last Easter. By tolerating ed, they tacitly endorse his nonsense, implicitly validate him, and seemingly rely upon him to say what they might want without having to be that crude. If that weren't true some conservative would call him on his outrageous BS. And he'd stop. The whole group of 'em are responsible for ed.
