R.L. . . .

If we are soooo concerned about freedom then why the hell havent we invaded N. Korea?

You say this a lot, and I know you don't just mean North Korea. There are a lot of messy spots all over the world.

what I can;t understand is how you can honestly use the excuse "how can you clean that turd up there when there are turds all over the place?"

Its simply NOT a valid argument.

Its simple, we have two hands, so we can only pick up two turds at a time.

We simply cannot psyco-kinetically levitate all the worlds supply of crap into a trash can.

A doctor in a hospital isn't harrased with "how can you take care of this patient when you have 12 others? either take care of all the patients or take care of none." This is exactly what your argument is. We'll get to these countries when we get to them. OK?

Also theres a sizable lot of the world community who gets in a tizzy every time someone tries to clean things up. They protested vietnam, and by succeding turned it from a huge waste into a complete and ultimate waste, they protested when Clinton tried to clean up the Balkains, they protested when we cleaned up afganistan, they protested when we cleaned up Iraq. These people make progress difficult. Although to an extent they are also an important check/ballance.

Theres a long list of crap piles that need to be picked up, from Burma to Haiti to North Korea to the continet of Africa. We'll pick them up when we have the time, the resources, and the world settles out of its anti"make the world a better place" tizzy fit.

So rare is the chance that we actually get proactive and try to do something that benifits the world that when someone gets motivated and invades someplace with a positive net outcome i'm going to support it until it succeeds, or else we will have done it all for nothing. And eventually, maybe my grand children might live in a better world, a more peaceful world. . . And maybe they won't have to join the army.

It irks the hell out of me when someone claims that conservatives are against change, when most of the people I see trying to stop the world from changing into a better place are not coservatives, but people like you who scream "we don't have the right to clean up that pile of shit, we'll get our hands dirty, its too difficult, we can never do it. . ." etc. . .

You can't pick up a piece of crap by staring at. You can't pick up a piece of crap by praying for it. You can't pick up a piece of crap by signing a "The world thinks this piece of carp is bad and want its to go clean itself up" pettition at the UN or signing a law that make it illegal for the peice of crap to be on the ground in the first place. Without someone getting up, walking over to clean it up, its just going to sit there and stink up the place until it decomposes into dirt.
