But I was told that there were weapons in Iraq with a long reach, so I shut up and went along with it, and said at the time that I hoped we found them.
Now, guess what? There aren't any such weapons there, but there are in North Korea. The people in Iraq suffered under Saddam, but the people in North Korea have suffered worse and are continuing to suffer under their present regime.
If the justification for invasion is WMD, North Korea is the logical choice. If the justification for invasion is the people's suffering, North Korea is the logical choice.
Of course invading North Korea would be a disaster. Funny how we can understand that when there are real WMD in plain evidence.
The point is, the justification for invading Iraq was that our President and his Vulcans wanted to.
And incidentally, the current problem with the Shi'ites is all about how we cannot possibly stay in Iraq unless we live up to our earlier promises of majority rule for the majority Shi'a in "the New Iraq". (Notice how the big boys in the Shi'ite clergy are sitting on their hands.) This is a calling card, not a letter bomb. The message is clear. The clerics will have their way, or we will have to leave after considerably more bloodshed than has been inflicted up to this point.

I want to invade North Korea just as much as I wanted to invade Iraq.
