And I used to get crap for painting with a broad brush

In case you hadn't noticed it, a very few Americans are doing this. Other Americans called them on it, and turned them in. Many more Americans are bringing them to justice. This process was well under way when it became a political circus and another weapon in the hands of those who hate this country and want it destroyed.

This incident was condemned by every American who heard of it, including everyone on this board. But that wasn't enough, was it? We were supposed to wallow in it, pour ashes over our heads, and declare what so many people seem to get a thrill out of hearing: That the United States is the focus of evil on Earth. On top of that we get endless shit from other nations who do this stuff in their own jails every damn day, and who yawned--or cheered--when Americans died horribly. Do we really need Americans joining in the chorus?

Did we see any worldwide "mea culpa" from the Muslims when the Twin Towers fell? An expression of collective guilt like you are assigning to all of us? Did we demand apologies from those who knew nothing about it? Hell, did we get apologies from those who celebrated?

Frankly, I'm sick of this. We had a moral failure that needs to be dealt with. Rub salt in it if it makes you feel better, but if it does, you might want to think about your own psychology for a while.
