Oh, give me patience....

Almost the exact second the original U.N. borders were laid down and Israel was given existence, the Arabs began a war of extermination against them. This might lead a reasonable person to believe that maybe the occupation of the West Bank isn't the main issue here. The three Arab wars of extermination have been largely written out of the history of the Middle East by the Left. It doesn't fit well with the story of the Zionist Oppressor.

The original partition plan. Pay special notice to the areas designated as Arab. Where is Gaza? Where is the West Bank?

After the first Arab war of extermination was over, the borders looked like this:

Again. Where is Gaza? Who owns the West Bank?

For nineteen years, Egypt and Jordan could have created a Palestinian State in Gaza and the West Bank by signing a goddam piece of paper.

Not content with this, the Arabs started another war of extermination. The yellow areas on the above map were taken by Israel. Had the Arabs (and those who later designated themselves Palestinians) not decided that they and the Jews could not live under the same sky, they would have been a hell of a lot better off.

I think that we can all see what would have happened to Israel if they had had no overwhelming military might, and the Arabs did.
