Hi Mc Fly,
When Tom posts a virtual world, there are more implications than just one or two!
For instance: why would the US be a weak power? Wouldn't that mean it became that way on its own free will and wouldn't bother to defend other countries, leaving it up to others (it would have to trust)?
The Islamist religious extremism in the middle-east would have no reason to exist, in his scenario, because those countries would be influencial and powerful enough with their armament.
Now, suppose those countries , even very powerful, would not be democracies; well, religious extremism would be crushed by their mighty armies!
Religious extremism wasn't born on its own but it was a reaction to other forces.
