The Soviet Union was an evil empire. The nice Russians who worked the shops and farms weren't the ones trying to expand the empire, bring totalitarianism to the world, and throw people in gulags. The fact that nice German families existed during WWII did not make the Third Reich irrelevant, or our negative judgment of it incorrect.

The Russians are better off now, but not by much. Do yourself a favor and ask some of those Russians living in Antwerp why they aren't living in Russia right now.

When the people who set up the Geneva agreement (no doubt over nice cups of chamomile tea) are in charge of the PLO and Israel, get back to me.

The Islamist attitudes I mentioned in my post are widespread in Muslim nations. In some cases, like Taliban Afghanistan, they had the run of the country. See also Iran, which is feverishly working on atomic weapons. Life would be a lot easier for everyone if only a tiny fraction of Muslims believed in the things I listed.
