keep in mind what we have accomplished in Iraq.

We have managed to dismantle one of the few secular states in the Mid-East. Yes, it is true that Saddam was a brutal despot and had a repressive regime.

Duh! Repressive regimes are the defining characteristic of Middle Eastern governments--all. This is the legacy of the brutal and repressive Ottaman Empire. In this paradigm government is right wing, repressive, autocratic and controlling. Iraq varied from this in that they didn't have a king, nor an Ayotallah directing all aspects-social and financial of the state. As long as you didn't cross Saddam, his henchmen, or two crazed sons-Uday and Qusay you could conduct your business pretty much as you pleased and lead a normal life with your family and friends.

The situation in Saudi Arabia is more restrictive and controlled than it was in Iraq under Saddam. No question that Saddam was a controll freak and had let money and authority go to his head. No question he was a bad leader who was holding back his country.

Using this criteria we could find the excuse to invade over half of the nations of this planet. I really don't think we should be doing this and I am sure when you get over defending Bush, you don't think so either.
