"If anyone here thinks that someone putting documents in his socks is just "sloppiness," I've got a bridge to sell you. This stinks. "
If you think that a former national security advisor (or anyone with brains enough to complete a sentence) would
1) Think that any documents present in a reading room would be originals without duplicates.
2) Think that removing those documents would somehow prevent others from seeing them or their contents
3) Think that he could get away with intentionally lifting documents in his *Socks* in a reading room in the national archives that is under surveilance and preparted ahead of time for the viewing of classified materials.
Then I've got a bridge to sell you.
Now maybe he really is that sort of nefarious idiot and just *happened* to become an expert in his field respected enough to be vetted for the post of National Security Advisor. But MAYBE this is an apocryphal dog and pony show meant to distract independently minded folks from the DNC convention, the 911 commission report and give partisan lackeys like yourself some new Vince-Foster level conspiracy theory to scream about for the next 3 months and rally up the troops for the election. A RNC version of the 'thems votin machines er gunna steal the lection!!!'
Come on. Take a deep breath and just TRY to access reality here.
If this panns out, if he smuggled out documents in his socks I'll do the same thing here I have promised to do with WMD programs and Terrorist ties in Iraq being proven- stand here and crow that I was wrong and you were right.
Until then, maybe you should stop shilling for what very well may be a really nasty attempt to wreck and ruin a man just to buy a few poll points. For shame. I may disagree with 90% of the bush admin and want them out of office, but I would not ask for their name to be ruined in the process.
This has been going on for months. Do you think if the rather more hyperbolic asserions had merit that this wouldn't have been leaked pre-emptively by the dems months ago? Or ferreted out by one of the few remaining solid investigative journalism orgs?. Get a grip.
