Ok, I've tried to make this point over and over and somehow it doesn't sink in. Just because someone doesn't like Bush does not mean they love Bill Clinton, Al Gore or any other number of Democratic politicians so your argument is completely off the subject.
When I said divided I did not mean at all the political divide between political leaders. That's a natural divide that will always exist. Even though I differed with Clinton on a number of issues, had he been able to run for office a third term there wouldn't have been a Republican challenger that would've stood a chance at beating him. The electorate was not split like they are today. Yeah, his detractors hated him fiercely but I always sensed their hatred wasn't because they felt he was a terrible president in his policies but more of personal reasons. I don't think any of his opponents had the feeling that if he was in office another term that the future of the country was at stake anymore than the natural unease any voter has when their candidate loses.
That is not the case with people that I've met that are against George Bush. There is a huge worry that this man is irrational and dangerous. That's not a comforting thought with someone holding the codes to our nation's nuclear suitcase. America must coexist with other nations of the world and his track record is that of the isolationist. History has shown that that course destroys a nation. It does not make it stronger. So save your Clinton bashing for someone that truly cares. It has nothing to do with Bush.
