"Larry, what it seems you're not grasping here, at least with other Kerry supporters I've talked to, is that he's our only choice to rid ourselves of the idiot we're currently saddled with. You can go on til eternity ranting about what Kerry has or hasn't done or what he does or does not stand for and to most of us it truly doesn't matter. We simply see the guy as an alternative to someone we can no longer stomach."
The problem isn't Larry failure to grasp the situation- but you are right about the rest. But the problem is that Bush is not an idiot, a genius Hilter, a stupid Hilter, a liar, a person who caused the Dems to be fooled into supporting the war, someone who illegally stole the election, isn't a puppet, isn't a puppet master of Powel and others, didn't cause us to go in a "mad rush to war", or any other number of the Dem spins that you gobble up without using any citical thinking. The problem is you have allow himself to be spun, and you are still spinning. And yes, for the Dems this is an election about anyone but Bush.
And that is why the Dems are going to lose this election in such a complete defeat, and they will probably keep on spinning after the elections- you will be Gorified for life. This is a terrible fate, a tragedy, but only you can awake up a smell the coffee.
"In my 50 years of life, I have never seen a president as divisive as this one is. Maybe our country deserved and needed him to show us what abuses of power look and feel like much as the world needed to see Hiroshima and Nagasaki to understand the horror of nuclear weapons. John Kerry is not a perfect man but he's certainly not an evil spirited man. I wish I could feel that way about George Bush but my experiences in life has shown me that people that interact with others as he does are insecure and dangerous."
I wouldn't say that Kerry is evil spirited. The question of character, has to do with how person deals with power. One example is Kerry trying to threaten the people involved with "Swift Boats". Another example, is the "Do you know who, I am?" shit that Kerry does. And Kerry says he is a war criminal [like everyone else in vietnam] in other words he doesn't take personal reponsiblity for his actions.
"Do you want this country to blend government and religion as he'd have us do? I think that simple issue, in and of itself, is more than a compelling reason to throw the man out. The man has stated that God told him he's been picked to be president of the United States. Let's look back in history at others that have talked directly to their God and have had devine guidance or at least claimed it. I'm not sure I can think of one of those historical figures I'd feel safe leaving my children with or trusting at the reigns of this great country."
You are demonstrating that you don't have much familarity with American History. You also proclaiming that you don't understand religion. Your failure to understand religion also indicated you don't have much of a grasp on any type of history.
Specifically regarding "blending government and religion", one has to understand that there has been a rather neurotic tendency for last few decades of attempting to divide any government activity from any religious faith. This is a corruption of the idea of separation of Church and State. And it's probably an agenda of another "religon" and materialistic doctrine which believes that there in no god and existance is chaos any any perceived order is delusional- it's ultimate form being nihilism.
