As I said before I agree with more than half of Kerry's platform, but Security tops the list of issues for me and I don't trust Kerry on simply because the Democrats are playing fast and loose with their own records and Bush's on the issues around the war. Kerry had a real shot with me and lost big time by letting a Democratic 527 go hog wild on the AWOL non issue when there were many real policy failures they could they could have been focusing on. Sorry but I don't want more of that level of ineptitude in the whitehouse. All the arguments they apply now to Swiftvets are similar to Republican issues with the AWOL except that Swiftvets have far more witnesses to back their side.
I voted for Clinton twice and wrote in John McCain in the last election rather than vote for Bush, but I wanted Clinton impeached as much for political ineptitude for throwing away his presidency for a fat chick as for the legal issues. Imagine what could have happened with a few sexy Russian spies if the cold war hadn't already been won by Reagan. That level of irresponsibility does not belong in the Presidency. Demcocrats will never win my vote by playing fast and loose with security or returning us to the weak policies of the Clinton and Carter administrations. Prominantly featuring both of them on foreign policy was not a good way to endear trust on securitiy issues. Even Clinton had to give Carter the heave ho as his hot spot trouble shooter after he kept giving away the farm.
Regards,
Mark
