Not sure how you're arriving at these conclusions.

Modern imperialistic societies have all begun to crumble from within when they begin marches outside their borders.

By your arguments, Hitler should never have gotten anywhere near as far as he did. If you look at your history books, such imperialistic societies have been stopped only when forcibly confronted, and only the U.S. has, in recent times, the resources to do so.

If Israel was smart about things, they'd rescue the Arab world from Saddam and become more acceptable in the eyes of the Islamics.

This one just amazed me.

Oh, yeah. Gratitude from the Islamics. Pull the other one.

How much bloody gratitude did the U.S. get in real life for rescuing the Arab world from Saddam? How much bloody gratitude did we get after Gulf War I? After saving the Muslims in Bosnia?

Now, how much more "gratitude" do you think ISRAEL would get?

If Saddam had taken Kuwait, and then decided to take over Saudi Arabia and other nations, and given what seems to be the core assumption that the U.S. would stay out of it, what makes you think Israel would start a major war with Iraq to save the Saudis? A war that almost certainly would have to escalate to nuclear weapons?

As for the fundamentalists giving Saddam a hard time:

Do you understand that the Islamists and terrorists are as successful as they are right now in Iraq and elsewhere ONLY because they are attacking an enemy which is restraining itself?

If erased Fallujah and other "no go" cities from the face of the earth, went in and wiped out Sadr City, who would currently be standing against us? And where would they be standing?

Against the unrestricted military might and total lack of concern for humanity that a future Saddam regime would represent, there would BE no insurgency.

I don't care if answers agree with me, but they should at least be answers that make sense.
