Then answer your own fucking questions. Then the answers will always make sense to you.
Let me spell this out to you. Do I need bigger letters and to talk a bit slower? We rescued Saudi Arabia before they were ever really threatened, before they ever had to sweat or endure some real pain. The only time Saddam attacked their soil was when we had established troops there. No Saudi prince ever felt he had to pack up his belongings and flee. No Saudi troops were forced to fire on the advancing Iraqi army. They always knew, based on our putting economic problems over all others, that we'd come running and shooting and they could sit back in their palaces.
Saddam was no match for a fully functional military like Israel's or Egypt's. He had a ground army which we proved was a sitting duck to superior air power. You keep bringing up nuclear weapons but he was still years away from the capability. What a moron to begin his march before he had them developed. His missiles were inaccurate and short ranged. His troops, much touted during the war, turned out to be weak and easily demoralized. Remember, his country was ruled by fear. How many of the soldiers, away from his iron fist in Baghdad, wouldn't simply have cut and run to a better life?
I think he could've taken some other countries but he'd be worse off than we are in this war today about holding on to them and controlling them. With his power base having to be moved out to ever-expanding borders, wouldn't that have opened up opportunities for the Kurds and Shiites within the country? You act like this guy was Alexander the Great in his capabilities. Tom, read your history man. He is nothing more than a greedy punk.
