re: obsfucation?

When I refer to the Left, I'm including, among others:

- A large majority of the academic structure in this nation, including leadership positions in the universities, and much of the faculty. This trickles down to those in leadership positions across our educational system.

- Much of America's cultural leadership, including leaders in the entertainment industry, critics, the arts, filmmakers, award organizations, and others. Conservatives in Hollywood stand out like white crows in a flock.

- Leftist advocacy groups, including A.N.S.W.E.R., Moveon.org, and a long list of similar organizations, most with vague and obscure names like Center for American Progress, or Institute for Policy Studies.

- Union leadership (not most of the rank and file)

- Those who steer the output of most major media outlets, including a majority of national newspapers, all three network news outlets, and much of cable news.

- The current leadership of the Democratic Party (not most of those who simply vote Democrat every election).

The policies and philosophies of these widely-varied groups varies only by millimeters. I could predict their official responses and attitudes with my eyes shut on almost any issue.

There is not one damn thing where any of them would disagree with a socialist, but they can't use that term any more. It's "progressive" now.

And that's just in the United States.

Now that you have something to work with, how about going through the previous list and find an example where one of these major institutions or people has sided firmly with America in a conflict. Milquetoast "I think it's awful that the World Trade Center was attacked, BUT..." statements don't count. Political, economic, military, environmental, or otherwise. Good luck. Believe me, I've been watching this for a long time.

What's irritating is that everyone on this board knows damn well who and what I'm talking about. When I say "the Left," the same people, groups, and parties pop into your head as pop into mine. It's just useful for you to obscure the arguments by pretending you have no idea what I'm talking about.

And I'm sorry, but although it's great that Buck supports the war, and Mary Anne owns guns, these people aren't the ones pulling the levers of power out there.

Speaking of obfuscation, you did not address my comments on your moral equivalence statements.

BTW, what the hell is the "Johnathan Foundation?"
