If he was guilty of beheadings and torture he deserved appropriate punishment, but how can anyone know now if he was or not? My point was that justice cannot be meted out at the whim of soldiers in the field, regardless of their state of mind. If he was taken as a POW, fine, if he was directly threatening the marine or his buddies, it's a totally different matter.
If the guy offed him just because he was pissed off, that's not fine. If this is a sign of a more widespread problem - and I'm not saying it is, but someone needs to find out - then it's really not fine.
