The FACT of evolution is indisputable, even if the details, mechanism etc can be disputed or revised. Or, to put it even more basically, the OBSERVABLE FACT that there have lived other, bizarrely different, species which then became extinct .. and the same goes for earlier previous climate and geological regimes ..
What I am saying is that the details are open to argument, but I always tell fundamentalists that to deny observable facts (fossils, geology. ancient civilizations and cave paintings, etc) is to deny their OWN creation .. the Creator gave them eyes and a brain .. they should use it
The fact is that the source of this all - the ancient Torah - has said a lot of things which are not widely known, such as 'god created and destroyed many universes before this one', and that the creation of Adam is meant to refer to the first, fully-aware monotheistic human being - not the first human being as such. I have some articles on these matters, written by orthodox religious physicists .. but for now, maybe this link will entertain and inform ..
Still, none of this refers to the MORAL dimension of indiscriminate suffering caused by tsunamis, war and murder, etc. That's still a tough one and I got sick and tired of arrogant and stupid people preaching 'divine retribution' from their comfort zones.
