I am an atheist and not a subscriber to any of that nonsense, so dont try to lump me in with those that do... I also think some atheists go way too far.... some (by no means the majority) seem to have genuine hatred for those that choose to be believers- I really dont care if a person chooses to believe or not... but if they knock on my door and wake me up on saturday morning they are gonna see my wrath...

In short - believe what you want, I really dont care until you start trying to push it on me with your personal actions or by trying to make your belief law... I listen to the evangelical radio sometimes- and what they preach is a sickness...

I once heard a distraught caller to a christian talk show ask if her sisters dead infant would go to heaven even though the child never lived long enough to hear 'god's word' and be saved... The oh so righteous preacher calmly explained to her that her sisters baby was among the damned and would be in Hell... he went on to explain that only a few ten thousand humans would make it to heaven (It was clear he assumed he would be one of the lucky ones)

If those are the rules 'god' laid down, then god seems like a pretty evil deity... I also think the idea that prayer can make a difference is an intrinsically sick and depraved notion... the idea that a 'supreme' being is so insecure that it needs adulation and flattery from its creations is silly...

I dont think you need a god, or a bible, to know what is the righteous way to act... I strive to do jobs that will make the life of my decendants better-or at the least more interesting...
